PLN Final Report

I love my symballo because it’s all about me and the tools I use every day. I have mine organized by color and by usage. I like that one I want to add or delete something it only takes a few clicks. I didn’t even know this kind of program was out there and it was free. This program is excellent if you really want to use a PLN and makes it fun and easy.

C4k Summary

I had some very interesting kids this past November and this December. I commented on a post about a review for a math test by a fourth grade student. I told the student that math isn’t easy and it is very important to really learn it the first time so that when you see it again you don’t have to relearn the math. Another student came from Mrs.Conlin’s Flat Stanley Project. My students Stanley was named Flat Rohin and he was traveling to Oregon. I loved the flat Stanley video. I use to have a flat Stanley and took him on trips with me. The last student I had Clare. Clare’s blog was about her mother’s car having problems. Her mom was able to barrow a care until she could get a rental car. They didn’t know what was wrong with the care but clare was confused with what car her mom was driven by the time she go out of school. I told her that haven car problems are no fun. That some times we forget how important it is to take care of our car until it is not working.

Teacher Summary

My teacher number four was the blog titled What Ed Said. The first blog post I commented on was, “It’s Learning that matters…. Isn’t it?” This consisted of a really cool video with students talking about what their feeling are about what their teachers are really saying to them. I also read the letter from the middle school teacher. I agreed that elementary school and middle school are very different and teachers really need to give students time to adjust. The second blog post I commented on was “If it works for us…” This was a post was a list of the most valuable kind of PD he has used over the years. I really liked his list and I liked looking at his history and what worked for him. I want to be able to take what he learned and apply that to what I will learn in the future.

ALEX, ( http://alex.state.al.us/index.php) Alabama’s Learning Exchange provides all kinds of information for teachers who are working in Alabama. The website gives all the information a teacher needs to help them be a successful teacher in Alabama including links to many other websites containing information about teaching, podcasts on different lesions, lesson plans, and any thing and every thing u need.

            ALEXS is a website with so much information for teachers in Alabama. The website is great and gives you so many different ideas and for all grades. I liked that it was easy to find things just by using the search bar. I didn’t know this website was out there but I really enjoyed going threw it. I will use this web site a lot because I am planning to teach in Alabama. 

Final Project progress report

Tierra Dinkins and I will be using our own simplified instructions on how to use a smartboard and we will be showing different ways it can be integrated into lessons for all levels of education. We will make a video and post it to YouTube and our blogs sharing our findings with the world.
